Jesus’ said, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33),” hence the name, RTS Kingdom Training. Roddrell T. Stewart, also called Coach Rod, is the Founder of RTS Kingdom Training. Coach Rod started RTS as an avenue to teach up and coming athletes all that he’s learned while playing high school and collegiate football and to instill Christ’s values, discipline, hard-work, perseverance and a work ethic that will transcend for years to come.

Coach Rod’s love for football started when he was ten and first began playing at age thirteen. He would go on to play at the esteemed Scotlandville Magnet High School where he and his team went on to play in the state playoff after the reinstatement of the football program for the first time in decades. Coach Rod was also an all-district selection as a junior.

After a successful academic and athletic high school career, Coach Rod continued his pursuit of football by signing a full scholarship to play with the accredited HBCU Southern University as Offensive Lineman #67 on February 1, 2006. As an offensive lineman, Coach Rod was instrumental in blocking with a high-powered offense and was Academic All SWAC. He would go on to continue playing professional football in 2012 with the Tri-Cities Fever (IFL), 12-2 and Pittsburgh Power (AFL). In 2013, the Tri Cities were division and conference champs.

Graduating with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Coach Rod decided to give back to his alma mater, Scotlandville High School in 2016 and assisted in leading the team to a State Final Appearance for the first time ever and an undefeated regular season record.

Coach Rod’s experience and expertise has given him the knowledge and wisdom to help further the athletic careers of young athletes. Coach Rod loves to minister too, guide and lead young men on and off the field. His success included coaching four senior All District Offensive Linemen in 2016 at Scotlandville High School; Richard Bates, Roderick Thomas, Raymond Pope and Brian Thomas and All Metro Brian Thomas. Several of his other young student athletes have had success athletically also.

Coach Rod has coached/trained several young who are now playing collegiate football including: Brian Thomas (University of Memphis), Richard Bates Jr. (Eastern Michigan), Desmond Smart (Coffeyville Community College), Jadarrius Winans (Lamar University), Colby Thrasher (Lyons College), Tyree Thomas (Bethany College), and Timothy Thomas (Northwestern State), Greg Knox (Mcneese State), Will Campbell (LSU), Taishon Nelson (Arkansas Tech), Ryan Gilleylen (Southern Nazarene), and Xavier Robinson (Arkansas Tech).
